This is a question that we often hear lately. Not only in
Indonesia, but also with Z generation in another country. Before talking about
it more, I want to share with you about my current anxiety.
Lately, I think and reflect myself a lot about what will
happen in human life on this planet two and five years ahead. Exspeacially, to
Z generation that born among 1995-2010, included me. People are born, grow up,
studying at university, gradute, start the new life with his/her spouse,
working, and die. Exactly. Because no one can live forever in this world. But,
it become a big question, how is our future life? Will it better than our
parents’ life?
Mostly, people start their new life after campus graduation
at 22 years old. Then, they work for a company or institutuion. They are going
to get money because of that. Another 10 years in their career, their income
will increase. It is cause by promotion, job change, company appareciation, and
many more. It will happen again in another 10 years, 20 yeas after that. Besides, their life style increase as
well. And at 55 years old, what happens naturally if they chose to retire from
the work? Well, the income goes down. But unfortunately, living expenses
continue to stay constant. Even, it will increase.
I’m shocked with the data. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic
(BLS) release, it states that it has
already impossible to finance the necessities of life with two children by only
working full-time with regional minimum wage. It also convey the fact that for
the first time in history of America, nowdays generation have a lower standard
of living than their parents' standards of living. We all know that America as
a superpower country, but this is the facts have been happening. How about
Indonesia? How about your country? You know more.
According to Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics,
percentage of poor population in September 2018 amounted to 25.67 million
(9.66%), and the meaning of poverty in Indonesia is when a family has income
not more than Rp. 410,670 per capita per month. Besides, Detik Finance reported
that 10.000 work terminations by company have happened in the last 4 months.
Besides, Tempo said that number of work termination victim is expected will
increase around 10.000 people in 4 months ahead. It is predicted over 20.000
worker will lose their job in this 2019.
Like or dislike, those are great facts and circumstance that we supposed
to face.
Return to the first question, can Z Generation buy their own house?
Fresh gradute come to industry while economic chaos is
happening. Reality of life become harder day by day. It will danger if we don’t
prepare it well. For example to having house, we must prepare at least 1
billion rupiahs if we want to buy house in or near Jakarta, the Capital city.
But, it would be little different if we want to buy in Karanganyar, Central
Java, at least prepare around 400 million rupiahs. Sure, it will so hard if we
want it without capacity, lack of money. So scary, right?
If we only depend on a normal salary, we might buy it, but it
takes a long time, and we don’t know whether we are still alive or not. No
choise except starting business as soon as possible. Now and right now. Our
future salary never can cover just for one house. Chose the proper business for
you. Make added velue, build bullet proof system, open branches, and let you
fly with them.
